Forseen past and future events: not that easy.

Now it is the dinosaur's weight but for sure this won't be the last predictive model under review. Actually the models are not that bad, but... But to get actual numbers you need to compute. There is the problem: computing is based on approaching an approximation over and over again. Not so long ago flaws on calculations were found on programs which ingenieers used careless for designing all sort of objects. These were no sophisticated formulae but finding square roots.

"Gina says" on String Wars  reminds me of the Bourbaki phenomenon in math. Though, so far, the endings are quite different, the initial pourpouses are (were) quite similar: to clarify the topic on one hand and to set foundational grounds on the other hand. I wonder if having internet and blogs those days, Bourbaki would have ended up being "Bourbaki says"  as well.
